From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Can smile influence the lower anterior vertical facial height on frontal view in an adult Asian male subject? A cross-sectional study

open access: yesClinical and Investigative Orthodontics
Purposes The goals of this study were to (1) determine the effect of a smile on different modified lower anterior facial height/total anterior facial height ratios (LAFH/TAFH) in frontal view and (2) compare the esthetic scores (ES) of raters for ...

Contrıbutıon Of Tooth Movement To The Vertıcal Skeletal Changes Followıng Fırst Premolar Extractıon

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Orthodontics, 1997
The aim of this study was to evaluate the contribution of specific tooth movements in the correction of Class II division 1 cases with extraction of four first premolars. The present study comprised 17 subjects with ages ranging from 16 to 21 years.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Diagnostic performance of various cephalometric parameters for the assessment of vertical growth pattern

open access: yesDental Press Journal of Orthodontics
Introduction: Multiple cephalometric analyses are used to diagnose vertical skeletal facial discrepancy. A multitude of times, these parameters show conflicting results, and a specific diagnosis is hard to reach.
