Modeling of vertical gravity gradient for purposes of gravimetric survey [PDF]
The knowledge of the vertical gradient of the gravity field is of great importance in gravimetry and consequently in geodesy, since the gravity acceleration measured with the instrument must be reduced to a stabilized point. We can model vertical gravity gradient by using normal gravity field and different digital terrain models.

Determination of the Newtonian Gravitational Constant Using Atom Interferometry
We present a new measurement of the Newtonian gravitational constant G based on cold atom interferometry. Freely falling samples of laser-cooled rubidium atoms are used in a gravity gradiometer to probe the field generated by nearby source masses.

Multidirectional Motion Strategy of Miniature Water Surface Robot Actuated by Single Exciter
A novel multidirectional motion strategy on the water surface based on a single exciter is proposed, and a single‐exciter single‐plate module is developed for actuation. The driving forces generation mechanism of the module is revealed from the perspective of the asymmetric surface wave field.

Simulation of underground gravity gradients from stochastic seismic fields
We present results obtained from a finite-element simulation of seismic displacement fields and of gravity gradients generated by those fields. The displacement field is constructed by a plane wave model with a 3D isotropic stochastic field and a 2D ...

Waveguide Photoactuators: Materials, Fabrication, and Applications
Waveguide photoactuators convert guided light into mechanical motion. Their tethered‐flexible design enables minimally invasive surgery and confined‐space robotics. This review aims to guide materials selection, device design, and system integration, accelerating the transition of waveguide photoactuators from laboratory prototypes to versatile ...

Finite amplitude gravity waves in the Venus atmosphere generated by surface topography [PDF]
A two-dimensional, fully nonlinear, nonhydrostatic, gravity wave model is used to study the evolution of gravity waves generated near the surface of Venus. The model extends from near the surface to well above the cloud layers.

This study explores how information processing is distributed between brains and bodies through a codesign approach. Using the “backpropagation through soft body” framework, brain–body coupling agents are developed and analyzed across several tasks in which output is generated through the agents’ physical dynamics.

A MXene‐based actuator with gradient thickness is fabricated by a novel and simple vacuum‐assisted “tilt‐filtration” approach. The actuator exhibits a “diode‐like” controllable unidirectional deformation behavior under moisture gradient, and its deformation direction is strictly correlated to its thickness gradient direction and moisture source ...
