Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Spectral methods in gravity inversion: the geopotential field and its derivatives
The 3D spectral analysis of the gravitational potential field for a given mass distribution is studied. The derived quantities, the gravitational force field and the gravity gradient tensor are computed in frequency space.

Comparison between gravity gradients from dense CryoSat-2 altimetry and from shipborne gradiometry [PDF]
Satellite altimetry is a tool to gather information about Earth’s oceans and ice coverage on a global extent. Altimetric data can be used to monitor ice sheet changes, create bathymetric maps or analyze the sea surface.

An Analytical Study of Ozone Feedbacks on Kelvin and Rossby–Gravity Waves: Effects on the QBO [PDF]
An equatorial beta-plane model of the middle atmosphere is used to analytically examine the effects of radiative cooling and ozone heating on the spatial and temporal evolution of the quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO).

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Gravity changes and crustal deformations before the Menyuan, Qinghai Ms6.4 earthquake of 2016
In this study, the relative gravity data (2012–2015), GPS data-derived horizontal deformation (2011–2014) and the background vertical deformation from the leveling measurements (1970–2011) in the northeastern margin of Tibetan Plateau were processed to ...

Sensitivity limits of a Raman atom interferometer as a gravity gradiometer
We evaluate the sensitivity of a dual cloud atom interferometer to the measurement of vertical gravity gradient. We study the influence of most relevant experimental parameters on noise and long-term drifts. Results are also applied to the case of doubly

The Effect of Amino Acids on the Formation of Amorphous Calcium Carbonate Nanoparticles
Biomineral formation often proceeds via the assembly of amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) nanoparticles with narrow size distributions. Using in situ SAXS coupled to a stopped‐flow device, we follow synthetic ACC formation with a 10 ms time resolution and show that amino acids narrow the size distribution at low supersaturation, highlighting their key ...
