Stability and Well-Posedness of Fractional Navier–Stokes with Directional Fractional Diffusion

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
We investigate the three-dimensional incompressible fractional Navier–Stokes system with directional fractional diffusion: a vertical dissipative operator of order 2α∈(0,2] acting on the full velocity field together with a horizontal fractional operator ...

Aircraft Gust Alleviation Preview Control with a Discrete-Time LPV Model

open access: yesSICE Journal of Control, Measurement, and System Integration, 2018
This paper deals with a gust alleviation (GA) system using gain-scheduled (GS) discrete-time preview control. The key points to improve control performance of this system are in both modeling accuracy of the linear parameter-varying (LPV) system with a ...

Impact of Uncertain Parameters on Navier–Stokes Equations With Heat Transfer via Polynomial Chaos Expansion

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
This study investigates the impact of uncertain parameters on Navier–Stokes equations coupled with heat transfer using the Intrusive Polynomial Chaos Method (IPCM). Sensitivity equations are formulated for key input parameters, such as viscosity and thermal diffusivity, and solved numerically using the Finite Element‐Volume method.

Multifactorial Screening for Fine‐Scale Selection of CCS Industrial Clusters and Hubs in Brazil

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As Brazil moves toward implementing its decarbonization commitments, carbon capture and storage (CCS) hubs are emerging as a key pathway for large‐scale CO2 abatement in hard‐to‐abate sectors. This paper presents a multifactorial, data‐driven framework to screen and prioritize potential CCS industrial clusters and hubs across Brazilian regions,

Irradiated Atmosphere. V. Effects of Vertical-mixing Induced Energy Transport on the Inhomogeneity

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Atmospheric variations over time and space boost planetary cooling, as outgoing internal flux responds to stellar radiation and opacity. Vertical mixing regulates this cooling.

Asymmetric Information With Multiple Risks: The Case of the Chilean Private Health Insurance Market

open access: yesHealth Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We extend the Rothshild and Stiglitz (1976) model to two sources of risk –inpatient and outpatient risk– to better proxy real‐world health insurance markets. We uncover an interesting theoretical possibility: Take individuals A and B, who are low risks in, say, the inpatient dimension but A is riskier in the outpatient dimension.

Thermosolutal Magneto - Rotatory Convection In Couple - Stress Fluid through Porous Medium

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2012
The thermosolutal convection in a couple-stress fluid layer heated and soluted from below in porous medium is considered to include the effects of uniform vertical magnetic field and uniform vertical rotation.

Developing a Typology of Korean Women Leaders' Resistance to Their Token Status in the Workplace

open access: yesHuman Resource Development Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite remarkable economic development in South Korea (Korea), there are only a few women leaders, and they face challenges in the gendered workplace where organizational constraints and traditional values coexist. In a reanalysis of narratives of Korean women leaders (KWLs), using an ideal‐type analysis as a novel qualitative research method,

SUBSTANTIATION OF RATIONAL METHODOLOGY AND MEASURING ACCURACY FOR YIELD OF CIVIL AND INDUSTRIAL BUILDING AND STRUCTURE FOUNDATIONS

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2013
The paper demonstrates that while measuring yield of civil and industrial building and structure foundations the geometric leveling is carried out rather often with unjustifiably extra accuracy.

Fiscal decentralization and social stability in selected developing countries: the role of institutional quality

open access: yesCogent Social Sciences
The degree of fiscal decentralization is important in terms of economic, social, and political sustainability since it can improve social stability, especially in countries that have established strong institutions.
