Platform competition and strategic trade‐offs for complementors: Heterogeneous reactions to the entry of a new platform

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary We study how the entry of a rival platform affects the strategies of the incumbent's complementors. The latter face a trade‐off: While the entry threatens their benefits from indirect network effects, it also allows them to escape intense within‐platform competition.

Inter‐platform ecosystems

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary We extend ecosystem theory to cases in which platforms are complementors to each other: inter‐platform ecosystems. Analyzing web traffic data on 241 European platforms, we identify and characterize demand‐side inter‐platform ecosystems, and propose a theory of why they emerge.

Vertical and Horizontal Intra-Industry Trade between the U.S. and NAFTA Partners

open access: yesRevista de Analisis Economico, 2009
The main objectives of this paper are to (a) explain the extent of vertical and horizontal intra-industry trade in the United State’s foreign trade with the North American Free Trade Area (NAFTA), and (b) identify the industryspecific determinants of vertical and horizontal intra-industry trade. One of the main findings is that the observed increase in

3D‐Printed Crosslinked Nanocellulose‐MXene Hydrogels and Aerogels with High Strength and Conductivity

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study presents a robust strategy for 3D printing conductive, mechanically resilient MXene–CNF composite structures using a single‐step freeze‐induced crosslinking method. The printed architectures remain stable in both wet and dry states, exhibit high electrical conductivity and mechanical strength, and demonstrate practical application in fully ...

Economic Geography, Comparative Advantage and Trade within Industries: Evidence from the OECD [PDF]

open access: yes
A large share of world trade, especially among the OECD countries, is two-way trade within industries, so called intra-industry trade. Despite this, few attempts have been made to examine why countries export some products within industries, whereas they

Structure‐Property‐Application Correlations of Early Transition Metal Chalcogenides: A Dichalcogenide‐Centered Perspective

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ETM‐based chalcogenides exhibit rich structural diversity and tunable electronic and catalytic properties. This review critically summarizes structure–property–application relationships in ETM‐based chalcogenides, highlighting recent advances in electronic devices, electrocatalysis, and energy‐related applications, while outlining key challenges and ...

Monolithic 3D Nanoelectrode Arrays on CMOS Circuitry for Scalable, High‐Resolution Neural Recording

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A CMOS‐integrated in vitro electrophysiology platform with 26,400 3D nanoelectrodes enables high‐resolution extracellular recordings with enhanced spatial sensitivity. Wafer‐scale, low‐temperature post‐fabrication monolithic integration of nanoelectrodes on foundry‐made CMOS chips preserves circuit functionality and electrical performance.

Managing Capabilities for Achieving Net Zero via a Circular Economy: A Multilevel Framework

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, EarlyView.
Abstract Corporate management faces increasing pressure to achieve both net‐zero and circular economy (CE) goals. As organizations rarely manage this alone, they must develop novel capabilities within themselves and across their value chains and ecosystems. To explore capability development for achieveing net zero via circularity, we adopt a multilevel

Endowment Differences and the Composition of Intra-Industry Trade [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates the relationship between differences in endowments and different types of trade, in particular vertical intra-industry trade (VIIT). We build a general equilibrium framework based on a hybrid of the Chamberlain-Heckscher-Ohlin and
