Controllable Dynamic Mechanical Cell Stimulation using Magnetically Actuated Artificial Cilia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This paper introduces a platform based on magnetic artificial cilia for providing controllable dynamic mechanical stimulation to single cells, suitable for investigating large cell populations and enabling live cell imaging. Proof‐of‐principle experiments show that cell morphology is strongly influenced by the artificial cilia, that cellular forces can

A Physiological Microfluidic Blood–Brain‐Barrier Model for In Vitro Study of Nanoparticle Trafficking and Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A human microfluidic blood‐brain barrier (mBBB) model enables spatially resolved comparison of nanoparticle trafficking. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), liposomes, and nanoplastics exhibit distinct transport and disruption behaviors, revealing that membrane composition and uptake pathways govern BBB interaction.

Online Vertical Layout: Chinese Characters, Images and the Web

open access: yes, 2007
This essay introduces simple HTML coding for creating vertical text on the Web. This coding can also enable images to move horizontally across the screen in a panoramic presentation. The coding is originally a Microsoft adaptation of a version of Cascading Style Sheets 3 (CSS3), and as such in the early 2000s the coding worked only on Microsoft's ...

A Data Driven Review of In Vitro Electrical and Mechanical Stimulation for Post‐Acute Phase Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how in vitro electrical and mechanical stimulation modulates wound healing in fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Analyzing over 560 experimental data points, we relate stimulation parameters to proliferation and migration outcomes, evaluate platform designs, and highlight the need for multi‐parameter optimization to advance targeted ...
