Bulgur milling using roller, double disc and vertical disc mills

Journal of Food Engineering, 2007
Abstract In the present study, roller, double disc and vertical disc mills were used to determine their effects on the quality of bulgur (surface characteristics, shape, dimension (x, y, z), particle volume (V), bulk density, one-thousand particles weight and size).

Drive systems for vertical roller mills

2017 IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Industry Technical Conference, 2017
Capacity of cement new production lines has steadily increased over the last years. Reduction of investment costs is one of the most important driving factors for this trend. Because of simple scalability and low energy consumption, the vertical roller mill is a key part for single mill cement lines.

Vertical Rolling Mill's Twist Vibration

2008 International Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering, 2008
This paper studies the twist vibration of the branch closed system in the main transmission system of the vertical rolling mill, by means of the method of the theory and measurement, reason of negative moment of two roller in rolling steel is found. The research result shows that the theoretical calculation is consistent with the spot measurement.

Operational results of vertical mill conversions

Cement Industry Technical Conference, 2003. Conference Record. IEEE-IAS/PCA 2003, 2003
An innovative concept has been developed to optimize internal gas velocities of vertical roller mills and, thereby, result in significant power savings. This method for converting existing vertical mills results in higher grinding efficiencies through the conversion of traditional static and dynamic classifiers to a high efficiency, custom designed ...

Heat transfer in vertical perl mills

Bioprocess Engineering, 1995
A model of heat transfer during grinding in vertical multi-disk perl mills has been proposed. Heat transfer intensity in such mills depends on thermal resistance in a boundary layer formed at the inner surface of mill tank wall. The layer thickness changes depending on process variables.

Vibration Analysis of a Vertical Roller Mill: Modeling and Validation

Volume 2: Dynamics, Vibration and Control; Energy; Fluids Engineering; Micro and Nano Manufacturing, 2014
In this paper, vibration characteristics of a Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) are studied by using physical parameters of an operating VRM. The mathematical model is derived and simulated for a set of working parameters. Mechanical properties of the grinding material and the physical properties of the mechanical construction are used in the vibration model ...

A new gearbox generation for vertical roller mills

IEEE Cement Industry Technical Conference, 2006. Conference Record., 2006
Drive trains of vertical roller mills are usually equipped with heavy duty gearboxes with a horizontal input shaft and a vertical output shaft. Increasing mill sizes bring the existing gearbox concepts to their limits, however. This, and the demand for higher reliability and lower costs, has forced gearbox manufactures to develop new gearbox concepts ...

What’s Up with Vertical Mill Drives?

2019 IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Industry Conference (IAS/PCA), 2019
Drive systems for large vertical mills have proven to be a reliability issue for many cement producers. As mill sizes have increased over time the size of the motors and corresponding gear boxes have increased as well. The lack of reliability of these large and expensive drive sets has led to two outcomes; equipment suppliers have worked diligently to ...

On fault feature extraction and diagnosis of vertical mill

Engineering Research Express, 2020
Abstract In order to solve the problems of complicated fault diagnosis and poor fault diagnosis of vertical mill operation, this paper proposes a diagnostic method based on fisher and information entropy difference classification. By extracting the fault feature of the anomaly attribute–the maximum value of the attribute, and the ...
