Vertically transmitted infections: detection and clinical management. Bibliographic review
Vertical transmission infections have been a public health challenge for decades due to their impact on maternal and infant morbidity and mortality. Pregnant women are vulnerable to contracting infections affecting the fetus or newborn and generating ...

VERTICAL TRANSMISSION OF CONSUMPTION BEHAVIOR AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF SURNAMES [PDF]
This paper attempts to detect the existence of links in consumptionpreferences between generations. Preferences for consumption goods may bedetermined by the preferences of parents (vertical transmission) and/or bypreferences arising from the environment

Second harmonic generation confocal microscopy of collagen type I from rat tendon cryosections [PDF]
We performed second harmonic generation (SHG) imaging of collagen in rat-tendon cryosections, using femtosecond laser scanning confocal microscopy, both in backscattering and transmission geometries.

Neospora caninum and Bovine Neosporosis: Current Vaccine Research [PDF]
Neospora caninum, a tissue cyst-forming parasite, is the causative agent of bovine neosporosis. It is considered to be one of the most important transmissible causes of reproductive failure in cattle; abortion and neonatal mortality result in significant

Vertical Transmission of Murine Cytomegalovirus
Congenital abnormalities induced by murine cytomegalovirus have previously been suggested to be an indirect effect of maternal illness as no infectious virus has been isolated from the foetus. However, in this article we report that latent virus detectable by immunofluorescence and in situ hybridization, may frequently be present in foetal tissues.

Fractional Skyrmion Tubes in Chiral‐Interfaced 3D Magnetic Nanowires
In chiral 3D helical magnetic nanowires, the coupling between the geometric and magnetic chirality provides a way to create topological spin states like vortex tubes. Here, it is demonstrated how the breaking of this coupling in interfaced 3D nanowires of opposite chirality leads to even more complex topological spin states, such as fractional ...

Vertical transmission in chikungunya infection
We report the pregnancy outcome and clinical and laboratory findings in infants born to women with chikungunya infection during pregnancy. There was evidence of vertical transmission and poor pregnancy outcome in some cases.

Light trapping and guidance in plasmonic nanocrystals
We illustrate the possibility of light trapping and funneling in periodic arrays of metallic nanoparticles. A controllable minimum in the transmission spectra of such constructs arises from a collective plasmon resonance phenomenon, where an incident ...

An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
