Toward the principles of syncarpous gynoecia classification
The directions of broadening of the classification of syncarpous gynoecia on the base of the concept of vertical zonality subject to the constructional variants have been ...

A Computational Approach for Biomimetic Design of Liver‐On‐A‐Chip
A biomimetic liver‐on‐a‐chip with antiparallel perfusion was designed using COMSOL‐guided simulation to replicate hepatic acinus transport. Full‐scale modelling revealed diffusion‐dominated, length‐dependent nutrient gradients and low‐shear conditions.

Abstract While multiple factors explain low adoption rates of improved varieties by small‐scale farmers in sub‐Saharan Africa, a key supply‐side constraint is the limited availability of seed embodying new traits in the volume, quality, price, and timeliness required by farmers. This constraint is partly attributable to classical failures in the market

Histopathologic Analysis of the Morpho‐Functional Zones of the Human Acetabular Labrum
ABSTRACT The structural and functional adaptation of soft tissues to mechanical load controls their ability to withstand injury and influences their capacity for healing. Similar to the knee meniscus, the acetabular labrum exhibits zonal differences in mechanical load distribution, resulting in distinct regions with unique structural and functional ...

Vertical Zonal Distribution Patterns of Entomopathogenic Fungi in the Changbai Mountain
ABSTRACT Entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) are critical drivers of ecosystem processes such as pest regulation and material cycling. However, their distribution patterns and the drivers influencing them along the elevational gradients remain unclear. This study investigated the diversity and distribution of EPF along a

AbstractThe mean subthermocline and intermediate zonal circulation in the tropical Pacific is investigated using a compilation of shipboard ADCP measurements and absolute geostrophic velocities constructed from a high-resolution 0–2000-m Argo climatology referenced to a 1000-m velocity field derived from Argo float drifts.

Simulating past and future refugia for temperate trees in northern Italy
During the Quaternary, trees responded to the climatic changes of glacial–interglacial cycles with large‐scale range shifts. Over cold glacials, temperate tree species contracted their ranges and survived in areas known as refugia. Several studies point to the Euganean Hills (Colli Euganei), in Veneto, northern Italy, as one of the northernmost ...

Morphology and vascular anatomyof Galtonia viridiflora I. Verd. (Hyacinthaceae) flower
The morphology and vascular anatomy of the flower of Galtonia viridiflora I. Verd. (Ornithogaloideae, Hyacinthaceae) were studied. Each of tepals, and each stamen is supplied by single vascular bundle.

Influence of the vertical and zonal propagation of stratospheric planetary waves on tropospheric blockings [PDF]
AbstractCase studies are used to elucidate the relationship between stratospheric planetary wave reflection and blocking formation in the troposphere. The enhanced upward propagation of a planetary‐scale wave packet from the Eurasian sector, involving a Euro‐Atlantic blocking, leads to a stratospheric sudden warming (SSW).
