Very High Cycle Fatigue of Two Ductile Iron Grades [PDF]

open access: yessteel research international, 2015
Two ductile iron grades, EN‐GJS‐600‐3 a ferritic–pearlitic grade, and EN‐GJS‐600‐10 a silicon strengthened ferritic nodular iron grade, are studied in the very high cycle fatigue range using a 20 kHz ultrasonic test equipment. Fatigue strengths and SN‐curves are achieved, and fracture surfaces and microstructures are investigated.

Estimation of Low-Cycle Fatigue Curves of High-Strength and Welded Steel 10CrNi3MoV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this work is tested applicability of the extended uniform material law for high-strength steel on 10CrNi3MoV steel and its weld. Predicted low-cycle fatigue curves differ significantly from the measurements. Despite the reported scientific effort to

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Crack growth behaviour of aluminium wrought alloys in the Very High Cycle Fatigue regime [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Investigations have shown that in the regime of Very High Cycle Fatigue (VHCF) “natural” crack initiation often takes place underneath the material surface leading to crack propagation without contact to atmospheric components.

Very High Cycle Fatigue (VHCF) of notched specimens: a review

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity
A large number of mechanical components are subjected to fatigue loading beyond 106 cycles. The VHCF behaviour of smooth specimens has been extensively investigated in the recent years, even if more efforts are necessary to reveal the mecahnism ...

A new test methodology based on structural resonance for mode I fatigue delamination growth in an unidirectional composite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A specific device has been set up to test by vibration resonance the mode I fatigue delamination growth onset of composite laminates. This test system, based on the DCB test specimen, is a mass-spring-specimen dynamic system designed to resonate.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Development of a fatigue life prediction concept in the very high cycle fatigue range based on covariate microstructural features [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016

Microstructural features controlling very high cycle fatigue of nitrided maraging steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Maraging steels belong to the group of ultra-high strength materials and are often used in critical aerospace, automotive and tooling components. By applying a surface treatment such as nitriding, the fatigue and wear resistance can be improved.

Advances on creep–fatigue damage assessment in notched components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, the extended Direct Steady Cyclic Analysis method (eDSCA) within the Linear Matching Method Framework (LMMF) is combined with the Stress Modified Ductility Exhaustion method and the modified Cavity Growth Factor (CGF) for the first time ...
