Coral‐Reef‐Like Nanoporous Nickel Architecture for Enhanced Oxygen/Hydrogen Evolution Reaction and Alkaline Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 7, July 2026.
The coral‐reef‐like nanoporous architecture of Ni, designed through NiCu dealloying, promotes HER and OER by increasing active site density, facilitating charge transfer kinetics, and expanding the electrochemically active surface area, resulting in improved alkaline water electrolysis efficiency.

Computation of Very Fast Transient Overvoltages (VFTO) in a 1000 kV Gas Insulated Substation

open access: yes, 2017
Very fast transient overvoltages (VFTO) generated in a gas insulated substation (GIS) during disconnector switching operations is one of the major concerns in insulation design of the GIS. Such over voltages can cause malfunctioning of the protection and

Suppressing Dendrite Formation through Au‐Driven Interfacial Engineering for Solid‐State Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 25, 1 July 2026.
A thin gold nanolayer on lithium metal enables stable and uniform lithium plating in solid‐state batteries, enabling nearly 1 year and 11 months of continuous operation. The conductive coating lowers interfacial resistance, suppresses dendrite growth, and improves cycling stability, attributed to homogeneous deposition of Li+ on the gold layer ...

Evaluation of the Thermal Impedance Spectroscopy for Lithium‐Ion Batteries Using an Embedded Temperature Sensor

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2026.
Thermal impedance spectroscopy is used to obtain the thermal parameters of a battery cell. Here, by utilising the cell temperature, the influence of thermal gradients on the resulting measurement is minimised, avoiding negative real values at all frequency points. The paper, therefore, compares multiple cell states and formats to gain insights into the

Coordinated DC Fault Ride‐Through Control for a Grid‐Forming Wind‐Storage System With VSC‐HVDC Integration Under Transmission Constraints

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
Due to complex wind farm conditions, a coordinated control system was designed. It manages DC power surges during AC faults by temporarily storing excess energy and regulating voltages. This strategy optimizes unbalanced power and enables effective fault recovery, resulting in minimal voltage fluctuations and superior performance.

Particle‐Size‐Dependent Lithium‐Ion Transport in PEO/LLZO Composite Electrolytes

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
A continuum modeling framework quantifies the critical polymer/ceramic interfacial resistance required for ceramic fillers to reduce polarization in PEO/LLZO composite electrolytes. The model shows that this threshold scales linearly with LLZO particle size, while remaining largely insensitive to ceramic loading.
