Development of a Disease Model for Predicting Postoperative Delirium Using Combined Blood Biomarkers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Postoperative delirium, a common neurocognitive complication after surgery and anesthesia, requires early detection for potential intervention. Herein, we constructed a multidimensional postoperative delirium risk‐prediction model incorporating multiple demographic parameters and blood biomarkers to enhance prediction accuracy ...

The effect of high-dose simvastatin on triglyceride-rich lipoprotein metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
Statins decrease triglycerides (TGs) in addition to decreasing low density lipoprotein-cholesterol. Although the mechanism for the latter effect is well understood, it is still unclear how TG decrease is achieved with statin therapy.

Subclasses of Low-Density Lipoprotein and Very Low-Density Lipoprotein in Familial Combined Hyperlipidemia: Relationship to Multiple Lipoprotein Phenotype [PDF]

open access: yesArteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, 2004
Objective— The present study addresses the presence of distinct metabolic phenotypes in familial combined hyperlipidemia (FCHL) in relation to small dense low-density lipoprotein (sd LDL) and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) subclasses.

Phase 1, First‐In‐Human, Single‐/Multiple‐Ascending Dose Study of Iluzanebart in Healthy Volunteers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of iluzanebart, a fully human monoclonal antibody TREM2 (triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2) agonist, after single‐ (SAD) and multiple‐ascending‐dose (MAD) administration.

The apoE isoform binding properties of the VLDL receptor reveal marked differences from LRP and the LDL receptor

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2005
Apolipoprotein E (apoE) associates with lipoproteins and mediates their interaction with members of the LDL receptor family. ApoE exists as three common isoforms that have important distinct functional and biological properties.

Involvement of binding lipoproteins in the absorption and transport of α-tocopherol in the rat [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
1. Specific lipoproteins binding α-tocopherol but not its known metabolites have been isolated and identified from cytosol of rat intestinal mucosa and from serum. 2.

Comparison of Two Methods for Very Low Density and Low Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Determination [PDF]

open access: yescclm, 1982
It is shown that VLDL-cholesterol cannot be calculated from serum triacylglycerol at elevated triacylglycerol concentrations (above 2 g/l). Using the method of Friedewald et al. ((1972) Clin. Chem. 18,499-502), VLDL-cholesterol is usually overestimated in these sera and, consequently, LDL-cholesterol underestimated.

ApoAV Reduces Plasma Triglycerides by Inhibiting Very Low Density Lipoprotein-Triglyceride (VLDL-TG) Production and Stimulating Lipoprotein Lipase-mediated VLDL-TG Hydrolysis*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2004
ApoAV has been discovered recently as a novel modifier of triglyceride (TG) metabolism, but the pathways involved are currently unknown. To gain insight into the function of apoAV, adenovirus-mediated gene transfer of murine apoa5 to C57Bl/6 mice was ...
