Robotic vs. open ureteral reimplantation: A retrospective comparative single‐centre series
Abstract Objectives To compare the outcomes of open versus robotic ureteral reimplantation procedures at a single centre. Material and methods The charts of all patients with ureteral strictures who underwent open ureteral reimplantation between 2005 and 2024, and those who underwent robotic reimplantation between 2013 and 2024, were retrospectively ...

A genome search for primary vesicoureteral reflux shows further evidence for genetic heterogeneity [PDF]
Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is the most common disease of the urinary tract in children. In order to identify gene(s) involved in this complex disorder, we performed a genome-wide search in a selected sample of 31 patients with primary VUR from eight ...

When is the Best Time for Voiding Cystourethrogram in Urinary Tract Infection of Children? [PDF]
This study was conducted to investigate whether the length of the interval between a urinary tract infection and the performance of the voiding cystourethrogram influences the presence or severity of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR).

A Mathematical Simulation of the Ureter: Effects of the Model Parameters on Ureteral Pressure/Flow Relations [PDF]
Ureteral peristaltic mechanism facilitates urine transport from the kidney to the bladder. Numerical analysis of the peristaltic flow in the ureter aims to further our understanding of the reflux phenomenon and other ureteral abnormalities.

ABSTRACT Introduction Bladder diverticulum rarely causes deep vein thrombosis (DVT) due to compression of leg veins. However, only a few cases have been reported to date. In this article, we report the first known case of DVT caused by a giant bladder diverticulum associated with long‐term use of antipsychotic medication.

ABSTRACT Objectives To (1) propose standardized terminology for bladder shapes on fluoroscopic images in a pediatric spina bifida population and (2) determine if bladder shape is associated with filling pressures and other measures of bladder dysfunction. We hypothesized that oblong, trabeculated, and “Christmas tree” bladders would have higher filling

Lower-dose CT urography (CTU) with iterative reconstruction technique in children : initial experience and examination protocol [PDF]
Background: Conventional X-ray urography is one of the basic imaging techniques in urinary tract diseases in children. CT urography (CTU) employing standard Filtered Back Projection (FBP) reconstruction algorithms is connected with higher radiation dose.

Videoflow: Uroflowmetry in Children Exploiting Standard Care Video Urodynamic Imaging
ABSTRACT Introduction Pressure‐flow study, consisting of flow rate combined with detrusor pressure, is the gold standard to determine bladder outflow obstruction and evaluate the detrusor voiding contraction. In very young children, not able to sit on a uroflowmetry device, the flow rate cannot be measured.

CURRENT APPROACHES TO TREATMENT OF VESICOURETERAL REFLUX IN CHILDREN (REVIEW)
Although of existing guidelines and a lot of scientific publications of the management and care in patients with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), up to now there isn’t the universally accepted algorithm for ideal treatment in children with such disorder.
