Measured vessel length in retinal vessel diameter measurement
5th ISSNIP-IEEE Biosignals and Biorobotics Conference (2014): Biosignals and Robotics for Better and Safer Living (BRC), 2014Retinal vessel diameters have been used to assess the vascular changes associated with possible systemic abnormality. The measured vessel lengths vary in different measurement protocols. This has impact on reliability of retinal vascular assessment but is lack of study.

Increasing Vessel Diameter with the Open Y Technique for Diameter Discrepancy
Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 2004Free tissue transfers have increasingly become the mainstay of plastic surgery for the last two decades. Size discrepancy between the vessels in microsurgery is frequently encountered in clinical practice and may potentially be an important factor in the patency of the anastomosis.

Photoacoustic determination of blood vessel diameter
Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2004A double-ring sensor was applied in photoacoustic tomographic imaging of artificial blood vessels as well as blood vessels in a rabbit ear. The peak-to-peak time (tau(pp)) of the laser (1064 nm) induced pressure transient was used to estimate the axial vessel diameter.

Medication use and retinal vessel diameters
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2005To study the influence of different medications on retinal vessel diameters.Cross-sectional study.Retinal photographs in the Beaver Dam Eye Study (n = 4926, aged 43 to 84 years) were digitized, and the diameters of retinal vessels were measured. Participants' current medications were recorded at the examination. There were few significant associations ...

Blood vessel diameter measurement by ultrasound
Physiological Measurement, 1993Blood vessel diameter measurement is crucial to volume flow measurement in medical ultrasound. The accuracy of the measurement is examined in this study. Experiments were made on three kinds of tube using four transducers on three commercial duplex ultrasound scanners.

Videodensitometry for Measuring Blood Vessel Diameter
Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1980A method employing a special computer for determining the internal diameters of blood vessels from photofluorographic image is described; in vitro and in vivo experiments are performed with the system. The amount of contrast medium injected is restricted to 4 times 3 ml, and it is possible to determine the diameter (in the range from 2 to 16 mm) at any

Diameter and depth of femoral vessels by duplex ultrasound
The Journal of Vascular Access, 2023Background: The anatomy of the femoral artery and vein plays an integral role in vascular access. Both technical feasibility and complication rates are associated with femoral vessel diameter and depth. The goal of this study is to establish normative values for common femoral artery (CFA) and vein (CFV) depth ...

A method of vessel tracking for vessel diameter measurement on retinal images
Proceedings 2001 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.01CH37205), 2002A method of vessel tracking has been developed for quantification of vessel diameters of retinal images. This method utilises twin Gaussian functions to model the distribution of grey level over a vessel cross section. The diameter of the vessel at the cross section can then be calculated using the functions.

Retinal vessel diameters and risk of stroke
Neurology, 2006Retinal vessels may provide information on cerebral vascular pathology, because they share many features with cerebral vessels. A smaller ratio of the retinal arteriolar-to-venular diameters reportedly predicts the risk of stroke. It is unclear if this is due to arteriolar narrowing or venular dilation. To investigate whether smaller arteriolar or ...
