A track fusion method of a vessel
SPIE Proceedings, 2015Track data of vessels is usually sampled by radar and AIS devices. The accuracy of data and sample cycle of radar systems are different from AIS’s. Track fusion of radar and AIS data can improve the accuracy and reliability of vessel tracks. This paper researches the fusion method of vessel tracks based on the radar and AIS data.

Efficient Vessel Tracking with Accuracy Guarantees
2008Safety and security are top concerns in maritime navigation, particularly as maritime traffic continues to grow and as crew sizes are reduced. The Automatic Identification System (AIS) plays a key role in regard to these concerns. This system, whose objective is in part to identify and locate vessels, transmits location-related information from vessels

Automatic vessel tracking and measurement for Doppler studies
Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 1990In this initial report, an imaging technique is described for automatically recognising the walls of a blood vessel during Doppler measurements, and hence automatically adjusting the position of the sample volume. The method reduces the inherently two-dimensional edge detection problem to a one-dimensional one, and iterates over several imaging frames ...

DP Systems for Track Control of Dredging Vessels
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2012Abstract The problems of implementing special control functionality for trailing suction dredgers in dynamic positioning (DP) systems are considered, focusing mainly on the dredging track control modes. The motion controller is proposed which provides the trajectory steering with the draghead under restrictions, imposed by the dredging process and ...

Robust detection of bifurcations for vessel tree tracking
SPIE Proceedings, 2011Vessel tree tracking is an important and challenging task for many medical applications. This paper presents a novel bifurcation detection algorithm for Bayesian tracking of vessel trees. Based on a cylindrical model, we introduce a bifurcation metric that yields minimal values at potential branching points.

Tracking a Vessel by Combining Video and AIS Reports
2008 Second International Conference on Future Generation Communication and Networking, 2008Video surveillance systems have been widely deployed in harbors or along coastlines. These systems provide a continuous surveillance of the transportation in a certain area, however, it?s difficult for the users to position a specific vessel and keep tracking it on these systems in an automatic way. To satisfy this requirement, this paper put forward a

Curved trajectory tracking for surface vessel formations
49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2010Following curved trajectories with a formation of vehicles can be accomplished by defining the formation positions relative to the trajectory. Using a Serret-Frenet frame results in problems along straight lines and at inflection points; we suggest to use a geodesic reference frame instead.

Motion Planning and Tracking for Marine Vessels
Volume 5: Ocean Engineering, 2013Trajectory tracking is an issue of vital practical importance for manoeuvreing of marine vessels and dynamic position system in many offshore oil field operations. In this work, a flatness based approach is proposed on the tracking control design to define open loop trajectories for a simplified model of the underactuated Hovercraft.

Spectral coherence applied to vessel tracking
2014 International Radar Conference, 2014Multi-Chromatic or spectral Analysis (MCA) of SAR images consists in splitting wide band SAR signals into sub-bands to generate several lower resolution images from a single acquisition. This splitting allows performing a spectral analysis of observed scatterers.

Numerical Particle Tracking in a Turbine Agitated Vessel
1992Modelling orthokinetic turbulent coagulation in a stirred tank requires knowledge of parameters describing size dependent growth and breakup rates. The residence time weighted strain rate is used for estimating the initial coagulation rate. As the aggregates grow larger, breakup occurs due to the shear stresses exerted upon the aggregates in a limited ...
