Vestibular Disorder Approach Base on International Classification of Vestibular Disorder

open access: yesAKSONA, 2022
Vestibular symptoms are symptoms that interfere with daily activities. Diagnosing these symptoms often relies on radiologic examinations that lead to a false negative. Proper clinical approach and study showed higher accuracy than radiologic examination on vestibular disease. These clinical approaches are based on time, triggers, and targeted analysis.

Multisensory Interactions between Vestibular, Visual and Somatosensory Signals. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Vestibular inputs are constantly processed and integrated with signals from other sensory modalities, such as vision and touch. The multiply-connected nature of vestibular cortical anatomy led us to investigate whether vestibular signals could ...

HSV-1 not only in human vestibular ganglia but also in the vestibular labyrinth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Reactivation of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) in the vestibular ganglion (VG) is the suspected cause of vestibular neuritis (VN). Recent studies reported the presence of HSV-1 DNA not only in human VGs but also in vestibular nuclei, a finding that ...

Plasticity of histamine H3 receptor expression and binding in the vestibular nuclei after labyrinthectomy in rat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Background: In rat, deafferentation of one labyrinth (unilateral labyrinthectomy) results in a characteristic syndrome of ocular and motor postural disorders (e.g., barrel rotation, circling behavior, and spontaneous nystagmus). Behavioral recovery (e.g.,

Combining Multi-Canal Vestibular Implant Stimulation to Restore the Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex in 3D

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering
Introduction: Vestibular implants targeting the semi-circular canals might offer a potential treatment approach for vestibulopathy patients. Electrical stimulation is provided to all three canals to restore gaze stabilization in all three planes of space.

The Effect of Vibrotactile Feedback on Healthy People and People with Vestibular Disorders during Dual-task Conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Vibrotactile feedback (VTF) has been shown to improve balance performance in healthy people and people with vestibular disorders in a single-task experimental condition. However, typical balance activities occur in a multi-task environment.
