Artificial Nervous Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 40, October 27, 2025.
By drawing inspiration from biological neural hierarchies and the working mechanisms of plasticity, researchers have constructed a series of bionic devices, including sensory devices, synapse devices, and artificial neural systems. They committed to simulating and surpassing the biological information processing function, thereby realizing the ...

Characteristics and Clinical Analysis of Dysphagia Caused by Pontine Infarction: A Video Fluoroscopic Swallowing Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study investigates dysphagia characteristics in pontine infarction patients using video fluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS), categorizing infarcts into upper, middle, and lower pons regions. Key findings reveal that lower pontine infarction patients exhibit significantly more severe oropharyngeal dysfunction, with higher incidences of impaired ...

Diverse Subpopulations of Reactive Astrocytes Following Chronic Toxoplasma Infection

open access: yesGlia, Volume 73, Issue 10, Page 2003-2024, October 2025.
Main Points Toxoplasma infection results in distinct astrocyte subpopulations. Chronically labeled reactive astrocytes appear transcriptionally plastic and can regain acute inflammatory responding and naive homeostatic astrocytic gene patterns in the presence of ongoing neuroinflammation.
