Cochlea-sparing acoustic neuroma treatment with 4π radiation therapy. [PDF]
PurposeThis study investigates whether 4π noncoplanar radiation therapy can spare the cochleae and consequently potentially improve hearing preservation in patients with acoustic neuroma who are treated with radiation therapy. Methods and ...

What intervention is best practice for vestibular schwannomas? A systematic review of controlled studies [PDF]
Objective: Largely, watchful waiting is the initial policy for patients with small-sized or medium-sized vestibular schwannoma, because of slow growth and relatively minor complaints, that do not improve by an intervention. If intervention (microsurgery,

Current Status of Research on Losartan in Tumour Therapy
ABSTRACT Losartan, a widely prescribed antihypertensive agent, has attracted growing interest as a potential adjuvant in cancer therapy due to its affordability, established safety profile and pleiotropic effects. Emerging preclinical evidence demonstrates that losartan can effectively modulate the tumour microenvironment (TME) by inhibiting ...

Vestibular schwannoma presenting as sudden hearing loss [PDF]
The sudden Hearing Loss (SHL) is a symptom caused by more than 60 different diseases, including Vestibular Schwannoma (VS). Shaia & Sheehy (1976) presented a study with 1,220 cases of SHL reporting 1% incidence of VS.

Cochlear implantation (CI) is a safe and well‐established intervention for sensorineural hearing loss, with a low incidence of severe postoperative infections. We present the first reported case of cerebellar abscess and herniation due to CI infection. This unique case involves a 57‐year‐old man with recurrent cochlear implant infections, necessitating

Optimizing Cochlear Implant Position for Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Vestibular Schwannoma
We retrospectively reviewed nine CI recipients treated for vestibular schwannoma, comparing conventional versus alternative (more vertical, farther) receiver/magnet placement, and related postoperative inner ear/IAC visibility on MRI to 3D‐CT measurements of magnet‐to‐EAC/IAC distances and the nasion–EAC–magnet angle.
