Vestibuloplasty: allograft versus mucosal graft

International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2012
The aim of the present study was to compare the application of alloderm and mucosal graft for vestibuloplasty. This randomized controlled trial with split mouth design was carried out on 20 edentulous patients. Patients underwent vestibuloplasty surgery with the Clark technique. Asutural maxillary vestibuloplasty

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1974
Abstract On the basis of our experience with twelve patients, a technique for maxillary vestibuloplasty without the use of sutures is presented. This technique saves considerable operating time, and the result is more natural in contour in comparison to previously reported techniques.

Modified maxillary submucosal vestibuloplasty

International Journal of Oral Surgery, 1980
The literature during the past few decades is replete with methods to improve denture retention and stability. The maxillary submucosal vestibuloplasty is a relatively simple, yet effective method of increasing the functional alveolar ridge with a minimum of postoperative morbidity.

Local injection of corticosteroids with vestibuloplasty

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1976
Triamcinolone acetonide was injected into the mucobuccal fold adjacent to the surgical site where a vestibuloplasty with mucosal grafting had been performed. Macroscopically, the mucobuccal folds of the experimental group were both softer than those of the control animals and exhibited less tendency toward regression in the depth of the vestibule ...

Free mucosal grafts for vestibuloplasty

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1971
Abstract Free mucosal grafts for vestibuloplasty were performed on seven dogs of mixed breed. Macroscopic and microscopic findings demonstrated that the grafts were well tolerated and that by the seventeenth day all inflammatory changes had subsided. Vascularization of the graft was complete by the tenth day.

Elimination of the “V” in vestibuloplasty

Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1983
A minor modification of an existing vestibuloplasty technique, which will enhance the short-term and long-term results, is described. Prosthetic rehabilitation can begin in the third or fourth postoperative week. The loss of vestibular depth in the early postoperative period will be eliminated.

Vestibuloplasty

The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1987
It is proposed that primary atrophic rhinitis belongs to a group of conditions under the heading 'Reflex Sympathetic Distrophy Syndrome'. This leads to decalcification of the turbinals, as in Sudeck's atrophy. Collapse of the decalcified turbinals is brought about by the impact of the inspiratory stream, and this is followed by atrophic changes.

Transpositional flap vestibuloplasty of the maxilla

Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1983
Abstract The transpositional flap vestibuloplasty technique can be used to deepen the maxillary sulcus and to correct soft tissue deformities with good, predictable results. The procedure can be easily performed in the office on an outpatient basis, and complications are minimal.
