[Response of Vetiveria zizanioides to Pb2+ stress].
Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2007The study on the eco-physiological indices of V. zizanioides under Pb2+ stress showed that with the increase of Pb2+ concentration (0 approximately 8 mmol x L(-1)) in water culture, the growth of V. zizanioides seedlings was badly influenced. Their leaves' conductivity increased, while SOD activity increased first and decreased then, but still higher ...

Induction of Lead‐Binding Phytochelatins in Vetiver Grass [Vetiveria zizanioides (L.)]
Journal of Environmental Quality, 2009Elevated lead (Pb) concentrations in residential houseyards around house walls painted with Pb‐based pigments pose serious human health risks, especially to children. Vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides L.) has shown promise for use in in situ Pb phytoremediation efforts.

Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) responses to fertilization and salinity under irrigation conditions
Journal of Environmental Management, 2009Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) has not been widely introduced in arid and semi-arid regions where irrigation, fertilization, and salinity are important factors in plant growth. The main objective of this study was to determine the response of vetiver to fertilization (fertigation) and salinity and their interactions under irrigated conditions.

[Purification of eutrophicated water body by Vetiveria zizanioids].
Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2003Studies on the purification efficiency of eutrophicated water body by Vetiveria Zizanioids on floating-beds showed that V. zizanioids had a great ability to remove TN, NH4(+)-N, TP, PO4(3-), COD, and BOD, and had a significant effect on improving water quality. It was proved that V. zizanioids could be used to purify the eutrophicated water body.
