An Overview of Shanghai VGOS Wideband VLBI System
2019 IEEE 11th International Conference on Communication Software and Networks (ICCSN), 2019The demand for higher precision measurements in Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) continues to grow, which drives the technical development of next generation international VLBI stations called the VLBI Global Observing System (VGOS). The Shanghai VGOS station is located in the courtyard of existing 65m radio telescope, which is 13.2 m diameter,

Measurement of Cross-Polarization Gains of VGOS Antennas
2023VGOS antennas observe in dual linear polarization mode. To obtain the maximum signal-to-noise ratio, the correlator visibilities have to be combined to Stokes I for fringe-fitting. For this processing step it is essential to calibrate the complex gain differences between the two linear feeds of each antenna.

Status of the Spectrum Management for VGOS
The VLBI Global Observing System (VGOS) utilizes broadband feeds at their radio telescopes in order to observe cosmic radiation in the frequency range of 2-14 GHz. These observations are increasingly in danger by unwanted electromagnetic emissions from telecommunications.openaire +1 more source

Triple-twin flux density monitoring at VGOS frequencies
The VLBI Global Observing System (VGOS) has been operational since 2020. To optimize VGOS schedules and derive more accurate geodetic parameters, a SNR-based scheduling approach has recently been introduced. Still, many geodetic sources have poorly known radio flux densities in the operationally used VGOS frequency bands.openaire +1 more source
