Detection of a novel papillomaviral sequence in viral plaques confined to the pinna of a dog
A raised plaque that contained histological evidence of papillomavirus infection and sequences from a novel papillomavirus type developed close to the ear canal of a 14‐year‐old West Highland white terrier. The plaque was excised, and further plaques developed within the same area of pinna.

Brachycephaly in French bulldogs and pugs is associated with narrow ear canals
Background Brachycephalic dog breeds have multiple skull malformations which may lead to anatomical changes in the external auditory canal. It is our frequent observation that in the otoscopic examination of the external ear in these breeds we are unable to visualise the tympanic membrane as a consequence of extreme narrowing of the proximal ear canal.

After describing the external, buccopharyngeal, muscle, and chondrocranium morphology of the funnel‐mouthed dendrobatid tadpoles of the genus Silverstoneia and their relatives, we delimited 16 new larval characters, including 12 new synapomorphies for the genus.
