Submillimeter Sized 2D Electrothermal Optical Fiber Scanner
Optical scanners are used frequently in medical imaging units to examine and diagnose cancers, assist with surgeries, and detect lesions and malignancies. The continuous growth in optics along with the use of optical fibers enables fabrication of imaging

Thermal state and properties of steel ingot under conditions of endogenous vibration treatment of the melt during crystallization [PDF]
In connection with the need to reduce the negative impact of the main defects of the forging ingots, the changes in their thermal state due to endogenous vibrational processing of the melt during crystallization are studied.

Abstract In this study, we attempted to observe changes in cognitive characteristics according to 3 intensity changes (Level 1: 0.25 gravity, Level 2: 0.38 gravity, Level 3: 1.3 gravity) at 8 vibration frequencies (10, 50, 100, 150, 200, 225, 250, 300 Hz).

Consequences of Location-Dependent Organ of Corti Micro-Mechanics. [PDF]
The cochlea performs frequency analysis and amplification of sounds. The graded stiffness of the basilar membrane along the cochlear length underlies the frequency-location relationship of the mammalian cochlea. The somatic motility of outer hair cell is

EXPLORATION OF VIBROTACTILE BIOFEEDBACK STRATEGIES TO INDUCE STANCE TIME ASYMMETRIES
BACKGROUND: Gait symmetry is the degree of equality of biomechanical parameters between limbs within a gait cycle. Human gait is highly symmetrical; however, in the presence of pathology, gait often lacks symmetry.

Joint mobility changes due to low frequency vibration and stretching exercise [PDF]
It has been shown that fifteen minutes of locally applied cycloid vibration of low amplitude and frequency is equally as effective as a fifteen minute programme of flexibility exercises in increasing short term mobility of the hip flexors. It is suggested that this mobility change may occur as a result of improved muscle relaxation.

Volume and Frequency-Independent Spreading of Droplets Driven by Ultrasonic Surface Vibration
Many industrial processes depend on the wetting of liquids on various surfaces. Understanding the wetting effects due to ultrasonic vibration could provide a means for changing the behavior of liquids on any surface.
