Vibrational anharmonicity and multilevel vibrational dephasing from vibrational echo beats
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1997Vibrational echo experiments were performed on the IR active CO stretching modes (∼2000 cm−1) of rhodium dicarbonylacetylacetonate [Rh(CO)2acac] and tungsten hexacarbonyl [W(CO)6] in dibutylphthalate and a mutant of myoglobin-CO (H64V-CO) in glycerol–water using ps IR pulses from a free electron laser.

Mechanical Vibrations and Vibration Control
1994In these lectures, an introduction is given into the basic concepts of the theory of active and passive vibration damping. First one degree of freedom systems are discussed with respect to the different solution techniques and with view to damping and isolation mechanisms.

Abstract In this paper a method is presented for finding the natural frequencies and principal modes of undamped free vibration of a plane frame composed of a rectangular grid of uniform beams. A general method is presented for finding a set of assumed modes which may be used in a Rayleigh-Ritz analysis of the system.

Vibration control by confinement of vibration energy
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005A method for controlling vibration energy in a structure having a vibrating member using a vibration confinement device is provided. The vibrating member has boundaries and vibrates relative to the boundaries. The method includes selecting a vibration confinement region in the vibrating member relative to the boundaries.
