Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

INSPECTING A BUMP TEST IN THE MAINTENANCE OF A 1200-CC DAIHATSU SIGRA DISC BRAKE

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah SINERGI, 2019
A motorized vehicle needs a system that can not only reduce the speed and stop the vehicle but can also serve as a safety tool and ensure a safe distribution which is called a braking system. It is important to conduct maintenance of a disc brake that is

Unlocking the Power of Quercetin‐Encapsulated Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles: A Multifunctional Approach to Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) are investigated for bone regeneration given their remarkable structural and functional properties. MBGNs are functionalized with Mn and Cu and incorporated with quercetin, a natural flavonoid exhibiting antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

Influence of vibrations on structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
One type of occasional structural load is a seismic load. Earthquakes and blasts are typical sources of vibrations, but vibration generated during urban tunnel construction can represent a significant problem.

X‐Ray Tomography Analysis of Damage Mechanisms in Metal Matrix Syntactic Foams During Compression

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In situ synchrotron X‐ray tomography is used to investigate the internal damage mechanisms of AlSi12 metal matrix syntactic foam with ceramic hollow spheres during compressive loading. It is concluded that a homogeneous distribution of the second‐phase filler material results in a sequential collapse in a localized region; this leads to controlled and ...

Performance research and safety verification of compound structure air spring

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
To further reduce the vertical stiffness of the air spring, appropriately reduce its lateral stiffness to attenuate the transmission of vibration along the lateral and longitudinal directions, a compound structure air spring (CSAS) was designed.
