Adaptive inverse control for helicopter vibration reduction [PDF]
The reduction or alleviation of helicopter vibration will reduce maintenance requirements while at the same time increase ride quality and helicopter reliability.

A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Analysis of potential helicopter vibration reduction concepts [PDF]
Results of analytical investigations to develop, understand, and evaluate potential helicopter vibration reduction concepts are presented in the following areas: identification of the fundamental sources of vibratory loads, blade design for low vibration,

An optimized tuned mass damper/harvester device [PDF]
Much work has been conducted on vibration absorbers, such as tuned mass dampers (TMD), where significant energy is extracted from a structure. Traditionally, this energy is dissipated through the devices as heat.

Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

Active vibration control for underwater signature reduction of a navy ship [PDF]
Dutch navy ships are designed and built to have a low underwater signature. For low frequencies however, tonal vibrations of a gearbox can occur, which might lead to increased acoustic signatures. These vibrations are hard to reduce by passive means.

Terahertz sum-frequency excitation of a Raman-active phonon [PDF]
In stimulated Raman scattering, two incident optical waves induce a force oscillating at the difference of the two light frequencies. This process has enabled important applications such as the excitation and coherent control of phonons and magnons by ...

Use of Directional Spectra for Detection of Engine Cylinder Power Fault
A diagnostic method, which uses the two-sided directional power spectra of complex-valued engine vibration signals, is presented and tested with four-cylinder compression and spark ignition engines for the diagnosis of cylinder power faults.

An Electroacoustically Controlled Vibrating Plate
Large vibrating plates are used as thunder sheets in orchestras. We have extended the use of flat plates by cementing aflat panel electroacoustic transducer on a large brass sheet.Because of the thickness of the panel, the output is subject tononlinear distortion.
