The Isolation Limits Of Stochastic Vibration
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1993The vibration isolation problem is formulated as a 1D kinematic problem. The geometry of the stochastic wall trajectories arising from the stroke constraint is defined in terms of their significant extrema. An optimal control solution for the minimum acceleration return path determines a lower bound on platform mean square acceleration.

An Isolator: Dynamics and Vibration Isolation
2016As an application of the SD oscillator, in this chapter, a nonlinear isolator based on a spring-mass system with a single degree of freedom is proposed, which can be designed as a nonlinear supporting system for ground vibration tests (GVT) for large scale machines like aircrafts and for vibration isolation due to a stable quasi-zero-stiffness (SQZS ...

Vibration Isolation in the Human Leg
Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 1962In attempting to determine bow well the human legs isolate man from vibration imparted to his feet, six subjects stood on a shake-table platform. Each subject experienced vertical vibration of 2 and 5 c/s at 1 in. double amplitude ± 0.21 g and ± 1.3 g peak accelerations.

Switching Control in Vibration Isolation Systems
IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2013In this paper, a switching control approach for active vibration isolation systems is proposed. The switching involves two regimes. In the first regime, no feedback control is applied thereby giving a low sensitivity to noise. In the second regime, active control induces improved disturbance rejection properties, but at the cost of increased noise ...

Distributed Network Vibration Isolation System and Vibration Isolators Useful Therein
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012A distributed network vibration isolation system includes several vibration isolation nodes distributed throughout a structure. The nodes wirelessly intercommunicate and include a passive structural isolation device and an active structural isolation device.
