Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Active vibration isolation using an electrical damper or an electrical dynamic absorber

open access: yes, 2008
This paper describes a theoretical and experimental study to show how an electrical damper or an electrical dynamic absorber, implemented using an electromagnetic actuator and an accelerometer, can control vibration transmission through a vibration ...

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

On the performance of a nonlinear vibration isolator consisting of axially loaded curved beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A desirable characteristic for nonlinear vibration isolators is a high static stiffness and a low dynamic stiffness. A curved beam is a possible candidate for this role provided that the amplitude of vibration about the static equilibrium position is ...

Analysis of vibration isolation performance of parallel air spring system for precision equipment transportation

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2019
Precision equipment is usually accompanied with vibrations during road or railway transportation. Sometimes the vibration exceeds the given limit, leading to the damage of the equipment. It is necessary to control the vibration during the transportation.

Quasi-Zero Stiffness-Based Synchronous Vibration Isolation and Energy Harvesting: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
In recent years, the advantages of nonlinearity in vibration isolation and energy harvesting have become increasingly apparent. The quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) of the nonlinear term provided by the negative stiffness element can achieve vibration ...

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.

Vibrational resonance in nonlinear vibration isolation systems [PDF]

open access: yes
In this study, we investigate vibrational resonance (VR) in a Duffing-type vibration isolation system using analytical and numerical approaches. Our results demonstrate that the response amplitude at low-frequency (LF) excitation can be enhanced by ...

Natural Bone‐Derived Ceramic Scaffolds Functionalized with Chitosan‐Gold, Chitosan‐Magnesium, and Chitosan‐Zinc for Enhanced Antibacterial Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the development of antibacterial ceramic scaffolds derived from natural bovine bone. The bones were processed through sequential boiling and hydrogen peroxide treatment to remove organic matter, producing porous, mineral‐rich scaffolds.
