Vibrations in Continuous Systems
2015In this chapter, continuous body models (i.e. systems with infinite degrees of freedom, governed by partial differential equations, functions of both time and space) are introduced. As is known, closed form solutions can only be obtained in some simple applications.

Vibration of continuous systems with compliant boundaries
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1977Abstract A theoretical study of two types of continuous systems with a general form of compliant boundary conditions is presented. The systems considered are elastic beams and circular plates with elastic damped edge constraints. Beam studies are restricted to those with identical boundary conditions at each end.

Vibration of Continuous Systems
1991Mechanical systems in general consist of structural components which have distributed mass and elasticity. Examples of these structural components are rods, beams, plates, and shells. Our study of vibration thus far has been limited to discrete systems which have a finite number of degrees of freedom.

ON REGULAR AND IRREGULAR NONLINEAR VIBRATIONS IN TORSIONAL DISCRETE-CONTINUOUS SYSTEMS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2011The paper deals with regular and irregular nonlinear vibrations of discrete-continuous systems torsionally deformed. The systems consist of an arbitrary number of shafts connected by rigid bodies. In the systems, a local nonlinearity having a soft type characteristic is introduced.

Vibration coupling in continuous belt and band systems
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1985Small transverse oscillation of an endless band supported by wheels couples the response of the free spans of the band to oscillation of the wheels. The coupling arises from the finite curvature of the free spans of the band when its bending stiffness is finite.
