Quasi-Static Characteristics and Vibration Responses Analysis of Helical Geared Rotor System with Random Cumulative Pitch Deviations

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
As one of the long period gear errors, the effects of random cumulative pitch deviations on mesh excitations and vibration responses of a helical geared rotor system (HGRS) are investigated.

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Low frequency vibrations disrupt left-right patterning in the Xenopus embryo. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
The development of consistent left-right (LR) asymmetry across phyla is a fascinating question in biology. While many pharmacological and molecular approaches have been used to explore molecular mechanisms, it has proven difficult to exert precise ...

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

From Geometry to Function: Programmable Mechanical Response in 3D‐Printed Adipose‐Inspired Soft Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven design of soft cellular metamaterials is systematically investigated by combining experiments, finite element modeling, and statistical prediction. The study quantifies how unit cell geometry and material properties govern stiffness, instability, densification, and energy absorption.
