Free vibration analysis of a string with vibration suppressor

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
When an elevator rope for a high-rise building is forcibly excited by the displacements of the building induced by wind forces and/or by long-period ground motion.

Design and Characterization of a Two‐Dimensional Soft Array Based on Cooperative Dielectric Elastomer Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fully polymeric two‐dimensional array of Dielectric Elastomers enables self‐sensing, cooperative actuation, and large‐stroke operation in a DE‐based autonomous conveyor. Based only on voltage and current measurements at actuator level, the system detects the presence of a ball and subsequently drives it toward a target position.

Free vibration analysis of a string with vibration suppressors located at 1/N from both ends of the string(When N is an even number and gap between string and vibration suppressor is not zero)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
In high-rise buildings, the elevator rope may resonate with the building's sway induced by wind forces and/or by long period ground motion. Therefore, suppression of elevator rope vibration is desired. To gain an understanding of rope sway, the free

Roll‐to‐Roll Processable EC/TC Hybrid Smart Windows Driven by a Bidirectional Dual‐Chromic Polymer Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable EC/TC hybrid smart window using a DCPE that enables tunable solar modulation (ΔTsol:15–43%), fast electrochromic switching (<90 s), and strong thermal blocking (10–14°C reduction). HPMC improves thermal stability, while an optimized ISL enhances EC performance.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Empirical Formula for the Fundamental Period of Reinforced Concrete Moment Resisting Frames in Indonesia

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Sipil
In dynamic analysis, the vibration period of a structure is recognized as a crucial factor that determines the structural response to earthquakes. The value of the structural vibration period is closely related to the stiffness and mass of a building ...

Estimation

open access: yesHBRC Journal, 2015
Most seismic design codes generally provide formulas to be used for the estimation of the base shear and lateral loads. For the determination of the lateral loads, it is required to estimate first the fundamental vibration period of the building ...

Sodium Alginate‐Based Submucosal Lifting Hydrogel for Endoscopic Mucosal Resection and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A biocompatible sodium alginate‐based hydrogel is developed as a next‐generation submucosal lifting agent intended for EMR and ESD. The optimized formulation exhibits a composition devoid of endotoxins, high viscosity, demonstrates reliable injectability, and ensures prolonged mucosal elevation.

Parametric Vibrations Of Periodic Shells

open access: yes, 2011
Thin linear-elastic cylindrical circular shells having a micro-periodic structure along two directions tangent to the shell midsurface (biperiodic shells) are object of considerations. The aim of this paper is twofold. First, we formulate an averaged nonasymptotic model for the analysis of parametric vibrations or dynamical stability of periodic shells
