Displacement and Force Control of a Quarter Car Using a Mixed Mode MR Mount

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2013
In hydraulic hybrid vehicles (HHV), vibration in dual-mode pump/motor units should be isolated from the chassis. A mixed mode magnetorheological (MR) fluid mount was adopted to isolate this vibration and was evaluated in a quarter car model. The MR fluid

First‐Principle Analysis of the Structural, Elastic, Electronic, and Optical Properties of Novel AHgF3 (A = K and Fr) Perovskite

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
The evaluation of the physical properties of novel KHgF3 and FrHgF3 perovskites is explored. Both compounds are thermodynamically stable and mechanically ductile. Featuring narrow band gaps around 0.53–0.60 eV, these materials show strong potential for use in flexible infrared‐to‐visible optoelectronics and energy conversion devices.

The Viscoelastic Behaviour of Auxetic Metamaterials

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), Volume 263, Issue 8, August 2026.
Stretch‐only auxetic unit‐cell viscoelastic models are extended from elastic honeycomb and keyway lattices using Maxwell and standard‐linear‐solid representations. Different horizontal and oblique relaxation responses make Poisson's ratio time‐ and frequency‐dependent, enabling tuneable auxetic behaviour for damping and adaptive structures.

Dynamic analysis of high static low dynamic stiffness vibration isolation mounts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The high static low dynamic stiffness (HSLDS) concept is a design strategy for an anti-vibration mount that seeks to increase isolation by lowering the natural frequency of the mount, whilst maintaining the same static load bearing capacity.

VIBRATION TRANSMISSIBILITY IN SYSTEMS WITH NONLINEAR DAMPERS

open access: yes, 2015
Dampers are used in mechanical systems to isolate them from vibration, mainly to dissipate energy and to lower the amplitude of the system behavior near the resonance frequency.

Evolutionary Theories of Emotion in Italian Psychophysiology: Reception, Critique, and Influence, 1880–1920

open access: yesJournal of the History of the Behavioral Sciences, Volume 62, Issue 4, Fall 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines how Italian psychophysiologists engaged with Charles Darwin's evolutionary theory of the emotions (ETE) between 1880 and 1920. Darwin's work on the natural history of emotions converged with a vibrant tradition of experimental psychophysiology that embodied Italian Positivism's scientific ambitions.

Porphyromonas gingivalis disrupts hippocampal circadian clock via PI3K/AKT pathway, exacerbating Alzheimer‐like pathology

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 6, June 2026.
A graphical abstract is provided to visually summarize the key findings of this study. Abstract INTRODUCTION Periodontal pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis is epidemiologically linked to Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet how oral infection disrupts the central circadian clock to drive hippocampal neurodegeneration remains unknown.

Vibration Isolation of Asymmetric Rigid Plate Using One and Pair Pre-bent Strut at Each Corner under Static and Dynamic Axial Excitation [PDF]

open access: yesPort Said Engineering Research Journal, 2012
This paper is concerned with the influence of vibration isolators in the form of post-buckled elastic clamped-clamped one and pair strut to relief the vibrating machines from the harmful effects of vibration.

The Spectrum of Abnormal Tongue Movements: Review of Phenomenology, Etiology, and Differential Diagnosis

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, Volume 13, Issue 6, Page 1383-1398, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Classifying abnormal tongue movements is challenging due to their varied presentations and limited visibility compared to other body parts. Accurate identification of the phenomenology guides physical examination and can point to specific diagnoses.

Nonlinear vibration isolators with asymmetric stiffness

open access: yes, 2012
A vibration source is commonly coupled to a receiving structure by a vibration isolator. A key trade-off in the choice of vibration isolator is the requirement for a wide frequency range of isolation without excessive static deflection.
