Proprioceptive integration in motor control

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 8, Page 3431-3456, 15 April 2026.
Abstract figure legend A virtual reality (VR)‐based reaching task reveals how proprioceptive feedback affects the perceived and actual movement speed of active movements, as well as the perceived hand position. When an antagonist vibration was applied, subjects tended to overestimate their movement speed while also decreasing their actual movement ...

Penalty regularisation of a dissipative vibro-impacting system

open access: yes, 2003
Summary: The so-called penalty method in FE-calculation regularises the strong contact conditions by introducing contact stiffnesses and damping in order to reduce the mathematical effort. The problem, however, lies in an appropriate choice of the values of parameters for these artificially introduced springs and dampers.

Stable Model Reduction for Time‐Domain Room Acoustics: A Structure‐Preserving Formulation for Complex Boundaries

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 5, 15 March 2026.
ABSTRACT This work presents novel structure‐preserving formulations for stable model order reduction in the context of time‐domain room acoustics simulations. A solution to address the instability in conventional model order reduction formulations based on the Linearized Euler Equations is derived and validated through numerical experiments.

Comparison of the performance and dynamics of the asymmetric single‐sided and symmetric double‐sided vibro‐impact nonlinear energy sinks with optimized designs

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics
The operation of symmetric double‐sided and asymmetric single‐sided vibro‐impact nonlinear energy sinks (DSVI NES and SSVI NES) is considered in this study. The methodology of optimization procedures is described.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 3, Page 727-752, March 2026.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Optimization of a vibro-impact damper design using MATLAB tools

open access: yesStrength of Materials and Theory of Structures
The paper studies the dynamics of a vibro-impact system consisting of a main (primary) structure and a vibro-impact damper coupled to it. A vibro-impact damper is a vibro-impact nonlinear energy sink (VI NES). The optimal damper design should provide the
