Sources of uncertainty in vicarious calibration: understanding calibration target re .ectance

open access: yesIGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004
A field experiment investigated the hypothesis that the nadir reflectance of calibration surface substrates (asphalt and concrete) remains stable over a range of time-scales. Measurable differences in spectral reflectance factors were found over periods as short as 30 minutes.

Relative Radiometric Calibration Using Tie Points and Optimal Path Selection for UAV Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
As the use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images rapidly increases so does the need for precise radiometric calibration. For UAV images, relative radiometric calibration is required in addition to the traditional vicarious radiometric calibration due ...

Radiative Transfer Model Comparison with Satellite Observations over CEOS Calibration Site Libya-4

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2022
Radiative transfer models of the Earth’s atmosphere play a critical role in supporting Earth Observation applications such as vicarious calibration. In the solar reflective spectral domain, these models usually account for the scattering and absorption ...

Vicarious calibration of the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
Measurements of ocean color from Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) with a moderate spatial resolution and a high temporal frequency demonstrate high value for a number of oceanographic applications. This study aims to propose and evaluate the calibration of GOCI as needed to achieve the level of radiometric accuracy desired for ocean color ...

Development of an Operational Calibration Methodology for the Landsat Thermal Data Archive and Initial Testing of the Atmospheric Compensation Component of a Land Surface Temperature (LST) Product from the Archive

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2014
The Landsat program has been producing an archive of thermal imagery that spans the globe and covers 30 years of the thermal history of the planet at human scales (60–120 m). Most of that archive’s absolute radiometric calibration has been fixed through

Decoding Emotional Signatures of Ethical Ads: An Analysis of Actor‐Viewer Synchrony

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine whether ethical advertisements differ from conventional ads in their on‐screen emotional signatures and whether those signatures transfer to actor‐viewer synchrony. Study 1 analyses 138 professionally produced YouTube ads using Automated Facial Expression Recognition (AFER) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to quantify actor ...
