Tales From Within: Dental Students’ Reflective Activities Involving Equity‐Deserving Communities

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Undergraduate dental training benefits from community service‐learning (CSL) placements, in which equity‐deserving groups receive oral health care and students can critically reflect on their experiences. This study aimed to thematically explore the moments of revelation and struggle that senior dental students reflected on while ...

A flux calibration method for remote sensing satellites using stars

open access: yes, 2017
Star surveys and model analyses show that many stars have absolute stable fluxes as good as 3% in 0.3-35{\mu}m wavebands and about 1% in the visible wavebands. The relative flux calibrations between stars are better than 0.2%.

Mutual associations between self‐efficacy and physical fitness in Spanish adolescents: The EHDLA study

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, EarlyView.
This study reveals a bidirectional association between self‐efficacy and various components of physical fitness, specifically cardiorespiratory fitness, lower body muscular fitness, and speed‐agility, in Spanish adolescents. Higher physical fitness levels predicted greater self‐efficacy, and conversely, higher self‐efficacy predicted physical fitness ...

Positive institutions for language learning

open access: yesThe Modern Language Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Positive psychology has been flourishing within applied linguistics, providing new insights into the role of concepts such as positive emotion, grit, and well‐being. The founders of positive psychology envisioned three pillars on which it stood, positive emotions, character traits, and positive institutions.

Assessing Ethnic Prejudice Moral Disengagement and Intercultural Sensitivity in Middle Childhood: Development and Pilot Use of an AI‐Supported Narrative Instrument

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Education, Volume 61, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Middle childhood represents a crucial developmental stage in which ethnic biases often emerge and solidify, potentially leading to peer exclusion or harassment. Recent research highlights the role of moral disengagement in ethnic‐related harassment and identifies intercultural competences as crucial for counteracting prejudicial peer ...
