Endoscopic Step‐up Approach for Walled‐off Necrosis After Acute Pancreatitis

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This review outlines current interventional strategies for treating symptomatic walled‐off necrosis (WON) after necrotizing pancreatitis. Mortality from acute pancreatitis has improved, but late mortality, particularly from infected necrosis, remains a challenge. WON requires invasive treatment in cases of infection or symptoms.

A Novel Endoscopic Strategy for Addressing Complex Gastrointestinal Defects via the X‐Tack System: A Case Series With Videos

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The management of complex gastrointestinal defects (CGDs), such as fistulas, leaks, and anastomotic dehiscence, remains challenging. Over‐the‐scope suturing (OTSS) systems provide effective closure, but their application is limited to specific anatomical sites.

Establishment of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Program

open access: yesJournal of Chest Surgery, 2021
The establishment of minimally invasive surgery is a complex and difficult task. Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) refers to a minimally invasive surgical technique that represents a less invasive approach to thoracic surgery using thoracoscopy. For

Congenital Esophageal Muscularis Propria Defect Found during Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection for Early Esophageal Cancer: A Case Report and Management

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Congenital esophageal muscularis propria defects are extremely rare, often complicating endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for esophageal neoplasms. We report a 60‐year‐old man with early esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who underwent ESD.

Lymphatic topology reveals a novel intranodal lympho‐venous shunt

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, Volume 268, Issue 4, Page 477-492, April 2026.
Abstract Understanding the lymphatic network is crucial for immunological research. Currently, a complete map of lymphatic drainage in mice is lacking. We present a detailed lymphatic system flow dynamic of two mouse strains with swollen lymph nodes (LNs), using region‐specific tracer injection and high‐resolution micro‐CT imaging to characterize LN ...

Magnetically Responsive Piezoelectric Nanocapacitors Enhance Neural Recovery Following Spinal Cord Injury via Targeted Spinal Magnetic Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
This study presents a novel “in vivo–in vitro” therapeutic strategy for spinal cord injury by leveraging magnetically responsive piezoelectric nanomaterials. These nanomaterials enable targeted delivery of localized electrical stimulation at the injury site through noninvasive external magnetic actuation, thereby promoting axonal regeneration and ...
