A Machine Learning Approach for Path Loss Prediction Using Combination of Regression and Classification Models

open access: yesSensors
One of the key parameters in radio link planning is the propagation path loss. Most of the existing methods for its prediction are not characterized by a good balance between accuracy, generality, and low computational complexity. To address this problem,

SVTN: Siamese Visual Tracking Networks With Spatially Constrained Correlation Filter and Saliency Prior Context Model

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Recently, Siamese network based trackers have been greatly developed and achieved state-of-the-art performance on multiple benchmarks. However, the decision-making mechanism needs to be studied more deeply in order to obtain higher accuracy.

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

A Hierarchical Framework Combining Motion and Feature Information for Infrared-Visible Video Registration

open access: yesSensors, 2017
In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical framework that combines motion and feature information to implement infrared-visible video registration on nearly planar scenes.

Synthesis and analysis of sounds developed from the Bose-Einstein condensate: Theory and experimental results [PDF]

open access: yesMuzikologija, 2018
Two seemingly incompatible worlds of quantum physics and acoustics have their meeting point in experiments with the Bose-Einstein Condensate. From the very beginning, the Quantum Music project was based on the idea of converting the acoustic ...

Video Editing for Video Retrieval

open access: yes
Though pre-training vision-language models have demonstrated significant benefits in boosting video-text retrieval performance from large-scale web videos, fine-tuning still plays a critical role with manually annotated clips with start and end times, which requires considerable human effort.

Predicting Epileptogenic Tubers in Patients With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Using a Fusion Model Integrating Lesion Network Mapping and Machine Learning

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

When Green Screen Meets Panoramic Videos: An Interesting Video Combination Framework for Virtual Studio and Cellphone Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, an interesting video combination framework was established based on Unreal Engine 4. By substituting the green screen image with panoramic videos, our framework could produce lifelike synthetic videos in which the foreground is the ...

Prognostic Implications of Sleep Architecture for Patients Admitted to the Intensive Care Unit With Status Epilepticus

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Status epilepticus (SE) is associated with significant mortality. Sleep architecture may reflect normal brain function. Impaired sleep architecture is associated with poorer outcomes in numerous conditions. Here we investigate the association of sleep architecture in continuous EEG (cEEG) with survival in SE.

Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.
