Comparative Analysis: Conventional Video Codecs v/s Compressive Sensing Video Codecs
2018 3rd International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering, Sciences and Technology (ICEEST), 2018In this paper, a comparative analysis of conventional video codecs and compressive sensing video codec is presented. Initially, the state of the art CS video codec are compared to identify the best among them. Latter, the selected CS video codec is compared with conventional video codecs (H.263, H.264, DISCOVER).

The transmitter of a video codec system is designed and realized in ECL hardware. This video codec system is capable of carrying one commercial NTSC color television channel with a program audio channel at a rate of 42.9 Mb/s. The transmitter interfaces with a DPCM processor.

Dirac was started off by British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) in 2003 as an experimental video coding system based on wavelet technology, which is different from that used in the main proprietary/standard video compression systems. Over the years, Dirac has grown out of its initial development and it is now on offer as an advanced royalty-free video coding

The Thor video codec is being developed by Cisco with the intention to use only royalty-free coding tools. The video codec is based on the well-known block-based hybrid video coding approach, but with some significant changes compared to existing standards such as AVC/H.264 and HEVC/H.265.

Superresolution-Enabled Video CODEC
2020 54th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2020Video compression forms a critical bandwidth management tool for streaming video applications. Lossy compression techniques such as MPEG-4 currently predominate but remain distortion limited. In this work, a complementary approach is employed whereby a frame is cast as logical sum of spectra associated with objects and edge-contours bordering objects ...

In this chapter, the very basic introduction about video compression theory is introduced. In this context, different redundancies which are generally exploited in video compression are discussed in detail. After that, the hybrid video codec is explained in brief.

Layered screen video coding leveraging hardware video codec
2013 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME), 2013In this paper, we propose a layered screen video coding scheme based on existing video codecs to leverage hardware video codec for efficient screen video compression. In this scheme, the screen video compression is performed as two-layer coding: base layer coding and enhancement layer coding.

Ultra-low latency video codec for video conferencing
2014 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication Technologies (CONECCT), 2014Video codec (e.g. HEVC, H.264, H.263, H.261) are used for real time video conferencing over internet. The amount of latency from end to end (or round trip) has significant impact on perceived quality of video call. This paper explains overall latency for entire signal chain with focus especially on video codec.
