Localized compression of video conferencing

Proceedings of International Conference on Image Processing, 2002
A new localized approach to video teleconferencing is introduced using three-dimensional vector quantization (VQ). According to the proposed model, recent localized history of the sequences is used to encode present frames based on a hierarchical approach.

Steganography in a Video Conferencing System

1998
We describe a steganographic system which embeds secret messages into a video stream. We examine the signal path which typically includes discrete cosine transformation (DCT) based, lossy compression. Result is the technical realisation of a steganographic algorithm whose security is established by indeterminism within the signal path.

A compression scheme for video conferencing

Proceedings of the 43rd annual Southeast regional conference - Volume 2, 2005
Most compression schemes today compress one video at a time. This works well in most cases. However, in situations where more than one video streams originate from a location, for example, in video conferences and remote surveillance applications, better compression can be achieved by implementing specialized schemes which exploit redundancies in ...

Utilization of video conferencing

Telecommunications Policy, 1982
Abstract Stressing the importance of accumulating systematic empirical information on the users and uses of video teleconferencing, the authors present the findings of a pilot study of AT&T's Picturephone Meeting Service. They then set out preliminary conclusions that may be drawn from those findings.

Video-conferencing in a classroom

IEMC 96 Proceedings. International Conference on Engineering and Technology Management. Managing Virtual Enterprises: A Convergence of Communications, Computing, and Energy Technologies, 2002
We introduced case studies and video conferencing-based projects to supplement lectures in teaching a graduate level telecommunications management course. The effectiveness of these methods in improving learning effectiveness was measured by administering questionnaires to students.
