Unsupervised learning of human body parts from video footage
2009 IEEE 12th International Conference on Computer Vision Workshops, ICCV Workshops, 2009Estimation of human body postures from video footage is still one of the most challenging tasks in computer vision. Even most recent approaches in this field rely strongly on domain knowledge provided by human supervisors and are nevertheless far from operating reliably under real-world conditions.

Facial behaviour mapping—From video footage to a robot head
Robotics and Autonomous Systems, 2008As autonomous robotic systems advance, they will be required and designed for interaction with humans in order to exchange information, which is essential for fulfilling their tasks. It is well established that human-machine interactions are more believable and memorable when a physical entity is present, provided that the machine behaves in a ...

Capturing, annotating and reflecting video footage
2017A presentation of interaction field data capturing setups for uninterrupted long term capturing. Two setups were described: the AMU forklift driving school with 17 cameras and the Digital Days 2016 at University College Nord in Aalborg with 16 kameras, 14 audio recorders, and two HDMI recorders.

Foreground Background Segmentation in Front of Changing Footage on a Video Screen
2018In this paper, a robust approach for detecting foreground objects moving in front of a video screen is presented. The proposed method constructs a background model for every image shown on the screen, assuming these images are known up to an appearance transformation.

PhysGen: Rigid-Body Physics-Grounded Image-to-Video Generation
European Conference on Computer VisionWe present PhysGen, a novel image-to-video generation method that converts a single image and an input condition (e.g., force and torque applied to an object in the image) to produce a realistic, physically plausible, and temporally consistent video. Our

Estimation of Speaking Speed for Faster Face Detection in Video-Footage
2005 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2005We previously reported a face detection system based on color segmentation using HSV. It was shown that the color is more effective than other colors not only in accurate segmentation but also in effective extraction of facial features. The first is crucial for detection and the latter for recognition.
