Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Electrocapillary Modulated Interfacial Tension Amplifies Liquid Metal Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presented an electrocapillary‐enhanced magnetohydrodynamic pumping strategy that harnesses the Lorentz force and interfacial tension modulation of liquid metal droplets to achieve amplified fluidic power. The system enabled low‐voltage, self‐oscillating fluidic transduction with enhanced pressure and flow generation, supporting compact ...

Observing the Coming of Age of Video Game Graphics: Exploring the historical development of video game graphics through distant viewing, hermeneutics and image clustering

open access: yesJournal of Open Humanities Data
The 1980s marked the arrival of microcomputers in our homes, as well as the advent of homebrew video game development (Swalwell, 2021). Next to working with the technological constraints of these early computers, many developers also had to figure out ...

Reverse-engineering graphical innovation: an introduction to graphical regimes

open access: yesG|A|M|E The Italian Journal of Game Studies, 2013
Technological innovation in the video games industry is a rich area of research that has barely been explored as of yet. Gamers are always clamoring for novelty and a remedy to the oft-decried “sequelitis” that “plagues” the industry, while game ...

GenLit: Reformulating Single-Image Relighting as Video Generation [PDF]

open access: yesACM SIGGRAPH Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Asia
Manipulating the illumination of a 3D scene within a single image represents a fundamental challenge in computer vision and graphics. This problem has traditionally been addressed using inverse rendering techniques, which involve explicit 3D asset ...
