Selective Video Encryption using Chaos for H.264 Videos Applicable to Video on Demand(VoD)

2020 5th International Conference on Communication and Electronics Systems (ICCES), 2020
The field of encrypting a video has been evolving for a long time to increase the protection given to the video data. Although, different techniques are being proposed, yet the level of efficiency in encryption is not adequate to suit the different real-world and real-time applications.

Performance analysis of distributed video-on-demand (VoD) systems

International Journal of Information and Communication Technology, 2010
In this paper, the performance of a distributed video-on-demand (VoD) system with multiple processing nodes is considered. Threshold-based multi-server queuing model with hysteresis is developed for studying the behaviour of the VoD system, wherein the video files are treated as the servers.

Sosemanuk Algorithm forencryption and decryption Video on Demand (VoD)

2015 IEEE Asia Pacific Conference on Wireless and Mobile (APWiMob), 2015
Video on Demand (VoD) service have a concept that the user will have complete freedom to choose what he wants to see. VoD gives satisfaction is more personal than the interests of the people. The development of information technology through multimedia services such as Video on Demand cannot be separated from the issue of data security.

Determination of efficient transmission scheme for video-on-demand (VoD) services

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 2003
In providing video-on-demand services in multicast environment, a broadcasting technique like skyscraper is very efficient for serving a very popular video in terms of resource requirement. However, a multicasting method like patching will achieve better performance if the video is not popular enough.

Design issues on media server scheduling for video-on-demand (VoD) services

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
Media server scheduling in video-on-demand (VOD) systems includes video content allocation and request migration among servers. In this paper, we present a greedy algorithm to allocate video copies to media servers. It uses a graph model and minimizes the average shortest distance among media servers at each step.

Analysis of user behavior in a large-scale internet video-on-demand(VoD) system

Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Multimedia and Image Processing, 2020
With the development and popularity of the Internet, Internet traffic has increased dramatically. Numerous studies have shown that video accounts for a large percentage of Internet traffic, and this percentage is still rising in the future. A good understanding of user behavior in online video systems can help us design, configure and manage video ...

Hybrid Video Transmission Scheme for Minimizing Maximum Waiting Time in Video-on-Demand (VOD) System

2017 2nd International Conference on Multimedia and Image Processing (ICMIP), 2017
In order to enhance the user experience, it is necessary to reduce the waiting time for each video. It is obvious that the waiting time decreases as the number of channels increases when other conditions keep the same. In this paper, an algorithm using binary search and combining broadcasting with unicast is proposed to minimize the maximum waiting ...

A novel scheme of transporting pre-stored MPEG video to support video-on-demand (VoD) services

Computer Communications, 2000
This paper focuses on the optimization of network bandwidth allocation and buffer dimensioning to transport pre-stored MPEG video data from source to playback destination across ATM networks. This is one of the most important issues in the support of video-on-demand (VoD) service.

Recursive patching for video-on-demand (VOD) systems with limited client buffer constraint

2002 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37353), 2003
To reduce the service bandwidth consumption of a video-on-demand (VOD) system, a recursive patching idea is proposed and several on-line algorithms based on this idea are experimented with in this research. With a limited receiver buffer space, we adopt a simple fixed-threshold starting rule, in which a full stream is initiated by using a fixed ...

Hybrid video transmission scheme for maximizing the expectation of served users in video-on-demand (VOD) system

2017 IEEE 9th International Conference on Communication Software and Networks (ICCSN), 2017
In Video-on-Demand (VOD) system, it is very important to allocate channels efficiently, so that the most people can view the video immediately, rather than leave the system because of long waiting time. In this paper, an algorithm based on dynamic programming is proposed to maximize the expectation of served users by combining broadcasting with ...
