COME for No-Reference Video Quality Assessment

2018 IEEE Conference on Multimedia Information Processing and Retrieval (MIPR), 2018
Nowadays, the issue of objective Video Quality Assessment (VQA) has been extensively studied. In this paper, we present an effective general-purpose VQA method named COnvolutional neural network and Multi-regression based Evaluation (COME). It requires no referred lossless video and is universal for non-specific types of distortion.

Video Quality Assessment in the DASH Technique

2019 International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM), 2019
The paper presents video quality assessment issues that include different methods. A subjective video quality assessment of the MPEG-4 / H.264 encoded clips, at the selected bitrates and picture resolutions, is shown. The authors underline the necessity of using a subjective approach to complement objective methods and propose the measurement scenario ...

Quality Assessment of Virtual Reality Videos

2019
360-degree spherical images/videos, also called virtual reality (VR) images/videos, can provide an immersive experience of real scenes in some specific systems. This makes it widely used in VR games, sporting events and VR movies. However, due to its high resolution, it is so difficult to transmit, compress or store VR images/videos.

No-Reference Video Shakiness Quality Assessment

2017
Video shakiness is a common problem for videos captured by hand-hold devices. How to evaluate the influence of video shakiness on human perception and design an objective quality assessment model is a challenging problem. In this work, we first conduct subjective experiments and construct a data-set with human scores.

Video Quality Assessment on Mobile Devices

2018 25th International Conference on Systems, Signals and Image Processing (IWSSIP), 2018
This paper deals with objective and subjective video assessment methods and evaluation of modern video codecs. The paper begins with a short introduction to video quality evaluation methods. Mainly, it focuses on common objective measurement methods such as Peak-to-Signal Noise Ratio, Structural Similarity, M-Singular Value Decomposition and subjective

Framework for the integrated video quality assessment

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2011
Through years of development Content Networks (CN) have become more sophisticated and more technically diverse. Modern CN are designed to be more adaptive to communication environment, devices and user requirements. However, one open issue is the still fluctuating quality of service provision. As a result user experience can be negatively affected.

Fast Video Registration Method for Video Quality Assessment

2004
In this paper, we propose a block-based video registration method that can be used for various applications such as objective video quality assessment. Instead of using the entire frames of a reference video sequence and a processed video sequence, we use a limited number of frames which are selected under a certain criterion and the selected frames ...
