Fault Diagnosis for the Short-Circuit Fault of the Single-phase Five-Level VIENNA Active Rectifier

The five-level VIENNA rectifier is very well suited to the short-circuit switch fault. However, this type of fault causes a distortion in the input phase current, one flying- capacitor to be discharged to zero and the other to be charged until corresponding output capacitor voltage.
