Experimental study on long spanning composite cellular beam under flexure and shear [PDF]
YesThis paper describes a sequence of experiments on a long-span asymmetric composite cellular beam. This type of beam has become very popular, combining the composite action between the steel and concrete with the increased section depth, compared with

Behavior of Castellated Steel Beams: State of the Art Review
The state of the art of behaviour of Steel Castellated Beams is explain in this paper. The present research status of behavior of castellated beams is not mature and need much through study compared to beams without openings in the web. The existence of

Seismic Behavior of Shear Connectors of Steel Vierendeel Sandwich Plate
As a new type of floor structure, steel vierendeel sandwich plates are widely applied in large‐span buildings with multiple storeys. Shear connectors are important stressed members of such plates. To evaluate the seismic performance of the shear connectors, a full‐scale test piece in two different connection forms, namely, A and B, is designed and ...

Study on the Mechanical Behavior of Top-Chord-Free Vierendeel-Truss Composite Slabs
A top-chord-free Vierendeel-truss composite slab (TVCS) comprises a concrete slab, several vertical webs, and a steel bottom chord. In this study, static tests and finite element analyses were conducted based on an actual project to investigate the deformation, crack characteristics, ultimate bearing capacity, and failure mode of the composite slab ...

In this work, a new constitutive model of the behavior of shape‐memory alloys is presented, based on earlier models, showing a very good agreement with the existing experimental results. A simple approximate application concerning the use of these alloys modelled as dissipation devices in a special truss‐moment frame is demonstrated.

Pushover Analysis of Steel Seismic Resistant Frames with RWS and RBS Connections [PDF]
The widespread brittle failure of welded beam-to-column connections caused by the 1994 Northridge and 1995 Kobe earthquakes highlighted the need for retrofitting measures effective in reducing the strength demand imposed on connections under cyclic ...

Precast Prestressed Concrete Truss‐Girder for Roof Applications
Steel trusses are the most popular system for supporting long‐span roofs in commercial buildings, such as warehouses and aircraft hangars. There are several advantages of steel trusses, such as lightweight, ease of handling and erection, and geometric flexibility.
