Un protocolo notarial de Granada pone de manifiesto que el gremio de maestros de hacer cuerdas de vihuela exportaba parte de su producción artesanal a otros lugares de la Corona de Castilla en 1542, en este caso concreto a Sevilla, ciudad en la que no hemos localizado ningún artífice de este oficio durante la primera mitad del siglo XVI.
