A modified VIKOR method for multiple criteria analysis

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2009
The VIKOR method was developed to solve multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problems with conflicting or non-commensurable criteria. This method assumes that compromising is acceptable for conflicting resolution. Although the VIKOR method is a popular method applied in multi-criteria analysis (MCA), it has some problems when solving MCDM problems.

Fuzzy VIKOR with an application to water resources planning

Expert Systems With Applications, 2011
The fuzzy VIKOR method has been developed to solve fuzzy multicriteria problem with conflicting and noncommensurable (different units) criteria. This method solves problem in a fuzzy environment where both criteria and weights could be fuzzy sets. The triangular fuzzy numbers are used to handle imprecise numerical quantities.

VIKOR and its Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences, 2014
Recently, Multiple-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tools have increasingly been expanded to help researchers and practitioners to evaluate and select the best compromise alternatives. Among popular MCDM methods, Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I KOmpromisno Resenje (VIKOR) has attracted much attention to cope with complex problems with conflict factors.

Optimization and ranking of dental restorative composites by ENTROPYVIKOR and VIKORMATLAB

open access: yesPolymers for Advanced Technologies
AbstractResin‐based composites, now the most prevalent material for restorative dental treatments, are available in a multitude of types. Next‐generation composites are designed to be bio interactive, solving issues such as secondary caries and mechanical failures, thus prolonging the restoration lifespan.

VMFS: A VIKOR-based multi-target feature selection

Expert Systems With Applications, 2021
Abstract This paper proposed a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) modeling to deal with multi-target regression problem. This model offered a feature ranking approach for multi-target regression by one of the famous MCDM algorithms called VIKOR.

Extended VIKOR method using incomplete criteria weights

Expert Systems With Applications, 2019
Abstract Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methods provide an effective means of assisting decision makers to choose the best alternative given multiple criteria. The VIKOR method, among others, is characterized by a trade-off between the maximum group utility of the majority (aggregation of all criteria) and the minimum individual regret of ...

TOPSIS vs. VIKOR

2020
Evaluating multiple criteria and selecting and/or ranking alternatives is called Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). These methods which are considered important decision-making tools for decision makers due to their multidisciplinary nature have been developed over the years. As a result, there are many MCDM methods in the literature.

The application of VIKOR for the tool selection in lean management

Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, 2015
Given that there is a large gap between the results of group-based decision-making and reality when using the same set of evaluation criteria to select the tool for lean management, this research uses the improved VIKOR method to select the tool based on an examination of a yogurt production line.

Rank Reversal and the VIKOR Method: An Empirical Evaluation

International Journal of Information Technology & Decision Making, 2018
Rank reversal is a common phenomenon in multi-criteria decision-making methods. It appears when the addition/deletion of new options to the alternatives’ set produces a change in the original ranking. In this contribution, we want to assess this phenomenon in the context of the VIKOR method.

A D-VIKOR Method for Medicine Provider Selection

2014 Seventh International Joint Conference on Computational Sciences and Optimization, 2014
Medical service has become more and more significant recently. Lots of researchers have focused on this field. This paper aims to select medicine providers for the certain emergency medical service, such as natural disaster, virus infection and so on. In order to solve this problem, the D-VIKOR method is proposed, which is successful to deal with the ...
