The necessity to update the translation of “Art as device”, by Viktor Shklovsky

This work aims to provide a history followed by a comparative analysis of the translations into Brazilian Portuguese of Viktor Shklovsky’s classic essay “Art as Device” (1917). The study will be based on the translations available in Portuguese, comparing them with each other and with the Russian original.
