Some Connections between the Spherical and Parabolic Bases on the Cone Expressed in terms of the Macdonald Function

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
Computing the matrix elements of the linear operator, which transforms the spherical basis of SO(3, 1)‐representation space into the hyperbolic basis, very recently, Shilin and Choi (2013) presented an integral formula involving the product of two Legendre functions of the first kind expressed in terms of 4F3‐hypergeometric function and, using the ...

Existence and Continuity of Solutions to a Class of Pseudodifferential Equations over p‐Adic Field

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
We study the pseudodifferential operator Tα and the pseudodifferential equations of type Tαu+u=δxk over p‐adic field ℚp, where δxk is the Dirac delta function. We discuss the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the equations. Furthermore, we give conditions for the continuity of the solutions uk when u belongs to the space L2(ℚp).

ON SUMMABILITY IN $L^p$- NORM ON GENERAL VILENKIN GROUPS [PDF]

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Mathematics, 2000
Let \((\chi_k, k\in \mathbb{N})\) be the Vilenkin system, \(\widehat f(k)\) be the \(k\)th Vilenkin-Fourier coefficient and \[ L_n(\Lambda, f)= \sum^n_{k=0} \lambda_{n,k}\widehat f(k)\chi_k, \] where \(\Lambda= [\lambda_{n,k}]\) and \(\lambda_{n,0}= 1\), \(\lambda_{n,k}= 0\) for all \(k> n\) \((n\in\mathbb{N})\).

Conceptual Problems in Quantum Gravity and Quantum Cosmology

open access: yesInternational Scholarly Research Notices, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
The search for a consistent and empirically established quantum theory of gravity is among the biggest open problems of fundamental physics. The obstacles are of formal and of conceptual nature. Here, I address the main conceptual problems, discuss their present status, and outline further directions of research.

Cosmic Strings and Their Induced Non‐Gaussianities in the Cosmic Microwave Background

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, Volume 2010, Issue 1, 2010., 2010
Motivated by the fact that cosmological perturbations of inflationary quantum origin were born Gaussian, the search for non‐Gaussianities in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies is considered as the privileged probe of nonlinear physics in the early universe. Cosmic strings are active sources of gravitational perturbations and incessantly

Smoothness conditions and integrability theorems on bounded Vilenkin groups [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Australian Mathematical Society. Series A. Pure Mathematics and Statistics, 1988
AbstractVarious criteria, in terms of forward differences and related operations on coefficients, are shown to imply that certain series on bounded Vilenkin groups represent integrable functions. These results include analogues of known integrability theorems for trigonometric series.

Foundations for Applications of Gibbs Derivatives in Logic Design and VLSI

open access: yesVLSI Design, Volume 14, Issue 1, Page 65-81, 2002., 2002
New technologies and increased requirements for performances of digital systems require new mathematical theories and tools as a basis for future VLSI CAD systems. New or alternative mathematical approaches and concepts must be suitable to solve some concrete problems in VLSI and efficient algorithms for their efficient application should be provided ...

The Liouville theorem for a class of Fourier multipliers and its connection to coupling

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 56, Issue 7, Page 2374-2394, July 2024.
Abstract The classical Liouville property says that all bounded harmonic functions in Rn$\mathbb {R}^n$, that is, all bounded functions satisfying Δf=0$\Delta f = 0$, are constant. In this paper, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions on the symbol of a Fourier multiplier operator m(D)$m(D)$, such that the solutions f$f$ to m(D)f=0$m(D)f=0$ are ...
