Novel and emerging biotechnological crop protection approaches

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 19, Issue 8, Page 1495-1510, August 2021., 2021
Summary Traditional breeding or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have for a long time been the sole approaches to effectively cope with biotic and abiotic stresses and implement the quality traits of crops. However, emerging diseases as well as unpredictable climate changes affecting agriculture over the entire globe force scientists to find ...

EU bank insolvency law harmonisation: What next?

open access: yesInternational Insolvency Review, Volume 30, Issue 2, Page 239-266, Summer 2021., 2021
Abstract After the COVID‐19 crisis has subsided, the (further) harmonization of bank insolvency law will again be high on the agenda of EU regulators and policymakers. On the basis of an analysis of the status quo pain points, this article advocates the extension of the BRRD resolution regime to all bank failures, regardless of their systemic relevance.

CdCl2 Treatment for Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4: A Method to Enhance the Solar Cell Performance

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Volume 34, Issue 3, Page 271-285, March 2026.
We present, for the first time, two alternative CdCl2 treatments applied to solution‐processed kesterite (CZTSSe) absorbers: pre‐selenization and post‐selenization. Carrier concentration is consistently increased by either route, whereas the band gap decreases with pre‐selenization but remains nearly constant with post‐selenization; enhanced defect ...

The Syntactic Status of Subject Clitics: A Problem from Venetan SE‐Constructions

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, Volume 124, Issue 1, Page 144-167, March 2026.
Abstract This article reopens the discussion on the syntax of subject clitics (SCLs) in Venetan dialects by providing a problematic piece of data and outlining its theoretical consequences. New evidence from se‐constructions in Alto Polesine Venetan (APV) shows that SCLs resist a unitary categorisation even within the same dialect group: in varieties ...

In Vitro Assessment and Preliminary In Vivo Characterization of Innovative Hybrid Materials for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, Volume 113, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Hybrid materials are gaining increasing attention for several applications since they properly combine biological and synthetic components, leveraging the advantages of both; thus, these materials can integrate with the host organism to support proper functions, offering new promising solutions, especially in the biomedical field.

Nanocrystalline Cellulose from the Solitary Tunicate Phallusia Mammillata, a Valuable Nanocellulose Precursor

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2025.
This study explores the potential of locally harvested Phallusia mammillata, a tunicate usually discarded as waste from mussles farming as a viable source for producing various high‐grade cellulose derivatives in the form of nanofibrils (NFC) and nanocrystals (CNC). Abstract Ascidians are ubiquitous filter‐feeding marine invertebrates, the only animals

Analysis of micro‐discharges fine dynamics via x‐ray detection on the high voltage Padova test facility experiment

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 4, Page 1043-1052, August 2025.
Abstract The high voltage Padova test facility (HVPTF) is an experiment set in Padova, Italy, operating in the framework of the Neutral Beam Test Facility project of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). One of the purposes of HVPTF is to study the phenomenology of discharge events occurring between electrodes at high voltage ...

Identifying the environmental drivers of corridors and predicting connectivity between seasonal ranges in multiple populations of Alpine ibex (Capra ibex) as tools for conserving migration

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 30, Issue 8, August 2024.
Abstract Aim Seasonal migrations, such as those of ungulates, are particularly threatened by habitat transformations and fragmentation, climate and other environmental changes caused by anthropogenic activities. Mountain ungulate migrations are neglected because they are relatively short, although traversing heterogeneous altitudinal gradients ...
